What am I doing now?

Last updated: · Mexico City

This is a /now page — a snapshot of what's keeping me busy at the moment.

Working on

  • ▸ Open source MCP servers — mx-fiscal-mcp-server (Mexican RFC, CURP, CLABE, NSS and CFDI invoices with their SAT status), domain-security-mcp-server and seo-geo-mcp-server. All three are on npm and in the official MCP Registry, and already run on SDK v2 and the 2026-07-28 spec.
  • ▸ dep-cooldown — a CLI that reads your npm, pnpm, Yarn or Bun lockfile and tells you which dependencies are younger than your cooldown. Published on npm in September, alongside mx-identifiers, the Mexican check-digit library the fiscal server is built on.
  • ▸ The blog's "what breaks" series, in English and Spanish: what actually breaks when you upgrade to PHP 8.6, Laravel 13, Node 26, TypeScript 7 or Kubernetes 1.37, and what stops working when Chrome drops XSLT.
  • ▸ Putting each tool where its audience is: the CFDI viewer moved to Siempre Contable, because the person opening an invoice XML is a taxpayer, not a developer.
  • ▸ Client projects: custom web systems for SMBs in Mexico.

Learning

  • ▸ Model Context Protocol — the 2026-07-28 spec revision and SDK v2, which split into separate server and client packages.
  • ▸ The npm supply chain — trusted publishing with OIDC, package provenance and dependency cooldowns, applied to my own releases.
  • ▸ Local AI on AMD GPUs — Ollama with ROCm on a Radeon RX 7900 XTX, and the failures that leave it running on the CPU without a warning.

Reading

  • ▸ The Pragmatic Programmer — Hunt & Thomas
  • ▸ Shape Up — Ryan Singer (Basecamp)
